Spicy Cauliflower Recipe

I made this one day, by chance, . I was thinking of making lemon rice, but realised i hadn't kept enough rice in the rice cooker to make lemon rice. However, I had already got a hot pan, with all tadka listed in this recipe. So i just improvised, and put in the cauliflower i had chopped for another kind of subzi. I tasted pretty good,a dn my husband also liked it a lot for rice-sambar combination.

So here goes, Enjoy.

CAULIFLOWER & POTATO FRY:
Ingredients:

Cauliflower cut into small florets 2 cups

Potatoes  2  peeled & cut into small cubes & washed

Salt

Red chilli powder ½ tsp (optional)

Oil 2-3 tblsp

POPU:
Udad dal ½ tsp

Cumin seeds ½ tsp

Mustard seeds ½ tsp

Dry red chilli 1-2

Curry leaves 5-6

Method:

In a pan take oil. When hot add all the popu items. When the udad dal becomes light brown add curry leaves & cauliflower & potato pieces. Stir them well. Let them fry on low heat till they are done. If needed cover the pan till the vegetables become soft but not mushy.

Sprinkle salt & red chiilli powder. Serve it hot with rice.

Variation:

You can use the same method to make potato & carrot fry, Arbi fry ( boil, peel & cut into roundels before frying), bhindi fry etc

Power of Prayer

I have always believed in prayer, and  recently, I have had 2/ 3 incidents , which have proved the power of prayer to me.

Last year, 2008. my husband was supposed to take up the ASQ exam-six sigma black belt exam. Was worried about hopw ough it might be. The exam day came. he was able to finish the exam within half the time it took the others to do it.  when he called and told me he has finished ahead of time,a nd was sure of his answers, I was saying my prayers.

then theresults of the exam came. he had scored among the top percentage of people . Again, when i received the news, I was praying.

then again, last year, my husband also took up the PMP exam, that many of his colleagues had taken up. They told him it was very tough, took all of the 4 hrs to complete the questions etc. Thus scared, he worked harder for this exam.
This one also , he finished in half time. he felt it was quite easy, after having appeared for ASQ exams, which have a higher degree of tough questions. This time too, when he told me this, I was in the puja room, saying the Guru Ashtottara shata namavalih.

And 2 months later, when the results came, earlier than expected,  my husband had scored almost 90% in the exam. far more than what any of his other senior colleagues had scored. And they ahd all taken the complete 4 hrs to finish the exam. I had been praying again on this occasion.

so as you can see, coincidence or not, I do believe taht prayer is powerful. And if sincere, will yield results.
